What is there in a kiss but a fleeting amnesia? [MICROFICTION]

By: Jessica Bonifacio

What is there in a kiss but a fleeting amnesia? When Earth pauses in spin and carnations stop in sway; when the grandest affairs matter no longer: all the day’s worries and all sorrows of the heart; all wars and clocks and waves gliding up and leaves dancing down — all done, all quiet, all dead for a moment.

In a second, I am soul without flesh. I am light as light in the sky. I am whole but half of one. In a blink, all dissipates; all is gone; all but this love of mine.
