Lady Lazarus

Look how the body of bottle
Shakes as if it is afraid of
Me and my terrible

Hands, how the moonlight
Flickers on the plastic with a
Reflection of my eye.

I, too, am filled with explosions.
We are looking at each other like
Two young soldiers forced to

Strike. I am full of life and it
Is delightfully non-living. It stands
Boastful and restless on the

Bathroom shelf, its wooden
Pedestal, and it is white as snow-sheet
And it is trembling.

And I am a young flesh,
And I am a call,
And I am conscious.

And it is an old wish,
A medication, a conceivable
Potential.

How everything
Breaks
In the midst of night,
Breaks
In the tension of logic
And desire.
